Hi all!

Regrettably, wallabout.me  has to temporarily stop accepting new user sign-ups. You can thank the 600+ sploggers for that. When we finish moving to our new host and put up more security measures, we will once again be available for new accounts.

Please note that this site was not intended to be a dumping ground for the spam-filled garbage that you are trying to pass off as a blog.

This is a social site for people to gather, make friends, share photos and stories with family and friends, or to just express themselves through real blogging.

If you are trying to make money online, then please take your “wares” to an open marketplace. Also, please note that this site is for people 13 and older and not restricted to people 18+ (so that means, please house your “adult” sites somewhere else…there are plenty of sites that offer free hosting).

Hi everyone! It’s been pretty hectic, so I haven’t had much time to post any further updates. Still waiting for more registrations and comments! Let me know what you would like to see here on wallabout.me or how it can be more customized for you. Don’t forget to try out the individual blog and photo gallery features

Also,  just a reminder that the custom avatar feature does work now, but current users will have to re-upload in order for them to show up.

OK…now custom avatars work again (kind of :s). Any avatar that was there before is still on the server, but it’s not pulling right, BUT if you upload it again, it shows up. I will try to get them to move over, but it may just be easier for you current users to upload it again

ok…so the testing on the separate directory did not work out as planned ;p I put everthing on the main directory in order to get all of the user information to stay as is. The only problem is the custom avatars. They are still on the server, but are just not pulling correctly on the site. I’m still working on this glitch, but it may take awhile since it seems to be a plugin compatibility issue. The good news is, that individual blogs are now working and each user can pick their own theme as well.

Feel free to try it out! I’m still working on a few things with it (like getting the gallery to show up under the user site instead of just the main site). You can see my sample blogs at wallabout.me/lilfran and wallabout.me/frannytester.

I am still testing out the beta WordPress 3.0 which will allow for individual user blogs and themes. I was able to get users moved over, but not avatars or photo galleries. For now, this is being tested on a separate directory, so what you have on here now should not be affected. I’ll keep you posted

wallabout.me is currently under development and testing.  Please feel free to jump in, kick the tires, and let us know what’s working for you and what’s not.  The more input we get, the faster we can (hopefully) improve things and make this a fully functional and enjoyable site.

Some things we are working on now are:

1. The ability for users to upload photos and possibly videos as well Just added this feature! Under “My Account” you will find the link to create a Gallery. Still testing this one out, but feel free to start using it.

2. The addition of individual blog pages

3. Working the bugs out of the forum setup

4. Tweaking the overall design (or changing it completely )
